There are roughly 600 classification codes used to group employees and their payroll to compute workers compensation premiums. Each state has unique workers compensation laws and these codes are listed for Florida landscaping businesses. This classification code is assigned to employees engaged in landscape maintenance activities. if employees engage in activities described by the following class codes, then they will be assigned to those classifications
Landscape Installation Employees (Class Code 0042) - The 2010 Florida rate is 6.36 dollars. This classification is used for employees that engage in laying sod, planting bushes, or other activities associated with the construction of landscapes.
Irrigation Employees (Class Code 5183) - The 2010 Florida rate is 4.75 dollars. These employees repair or install irrigation systems in yards and gardens.
Tree Trimming Employees (Class Code 0106) - The 2010 Florida rate is 13.31 dollars, which is actually 2.7% higher than the 2009 rate of 12.95 dollars. This classification is used for employees that leave the ground on a ladder or bucket truck to trim trees of all sizes.
